A Glimpse of Sunshine

I was up early on Thursday morning of this week and captured the sun peeking through the clouds. The lighting was surreal, so I ran back to the house to grab my camera. Made it back just in time before the clouds covered up the sun for the rest of the morning.

Sometimes you’ve just gotta be in the right place at the right time. Turning west, I could see nothing but overcast skies approaching:

A Pensacola Beach Wedding

You heard it here first! I’m getting married on Pensacola Beach to my lovely girlfriend (now fiance) of 2 years, Lydia! We met in Grand Rapids, Michigan and moved down here about a year and a half ago.

We are having our September wedding right here on the island, at Our Lady of the Assumption and our reception will be held at Skopelos on the Bay, just over the bridge in Pensacola. If you haven’t been to Skopelos, I highly recommend it. Excellent food and service that can’t be beat.

I know this isn’t really Pensacola Beach related, but I felt that I just had to break the news!

Pensacola Bay

I was doing the scenic walk just off of Scenic Highway this morning and got some good shots of Pensacola Bay, and the train tracks. In the distance, you can see the Garcon Point Bridge.

This is looking north along the tracks. I think I was actually breaking a law by being down there, but hey whatever gets the good pictures, right?

Another Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Beautiful day today for January. I’m pretty sure it was in the 60s this afternoon. There were plenty of folks out enjoying the beach today when I got home. Click to enlarge the picture!

A Beautiful Saturday on the Beach

Just another beautiful weekend on the beach. A little chilly, but no jacket needed today. Check out how clear the water is today:

These pelicans were putting on their own airshow over Pensacola Beach today, just like our Blue Angles!

Giant Shadows

The present is the ever moving shadow that divides yesterday from tomorrow. In that lies hope.

Once the sun was gone, I turned around, looking east off the pier. Check out the color of the sky! No photo editing here!

Whoa, dude!

This wasn’t today… I snapped pictures of these surfers a few days ago. But this 3 shot sequence was too good to pass up! Click to enlarge, and be sure to check out the surfer’s face on the 3rd shot.

Green Flags and Blue Skies

Just got back from another business trip to Las Vegas, and pleased to see the green flags flying over Pensacola Beach. I took a drive all the way down to where the road closes on the east end of the island, and noticed these cool cloud formations. It is great to be back! Humidity is my friend!
